PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG) — Parker McClellan is the executive director of Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. He said the airport has been operational since 6 a.m., the morning after the storm. Flights are limited for commercial passengers.
Since then, the airport has provided a much-needed landing facility and fuel supply for airplanes carrying crews and supplies needed for Hurricane Michael relief.
McClellan wanted to tell passengers trying to fly out of the airport to keep an eye on their airline carrier’s website for the most up-to-date information about flight changes. Airline carriers are aware of the Bay County’s curfew in place for public safety.
Restaurant services are limited due to power outages. Passengers should make arrangements for meals prior to arriving at the airport.
Ground transportation is limited, but available for passengers.
The airport sustained minor damage and McClellan said crews already made some repairs.
